"Beyond Fairy Tales: The Real Truth About Soulmates"

There is a misconception that meeting your soulmate will be your fantastic fairy tale where you live happily ever after.    
 Soul mates are everywhere. It could be your pet, parent, the neighbour. 
The Oxford Dictionary states - Soulmate - a person ideally suited to another as a close friend or romantic partner.
You are correct in thinking a soulmate is a person who is perfectly suited to you when it is stated as such. However, there is more to soulmates than is truly understood.
People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When someone is in your life for a reason, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed, often a subconscious thought you have sent out to the universe. Thoughts are strong and we must be aware of being careful in what we wish for. People come into your life to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend. As human beings, we long for this, so we tend to hold on too long and then that person may soon frustrate the heck out of you! Whatever, or whoever. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Often understanding why they are in your life is unclear until they leave. Usually, without any wrongdoing on your part, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. What we realise later is that what we once desired was fulfilled, once we have this realisation, the lesson is done. The wish you sent up to the Universe has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a season because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season. Lifetime relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.
